My Chaotic Path with Spirituality 2: From Science to Life-Changing Awakening

Image
Dodgy Childhood and a Strong Mind in Training I do not define myself as religious at all, but neither can I say I am an atheist. I have faith—strong faith—even I cannot identify with any religion or representation of God. My faith is omnipresent, woven into everything that makes us: it manifests in ourselves, in nature, in the people and souls we meet, and in the events that shape our lives. Everything happens in divine timing. If you face a challenge or obstacle now, it’s because you need that specific lesson to evolve. At least, that is the kind of perception I shaped from a young age while facing the multiple hardships that came my way. As a child, I remember my mother asking me for pictures of my father so she could bring them to a priest to curse him. I also recall her pulling Tarot cards and arranging her life based on her interpretations. At the time, these things meant nothing to me, but as I grew older, I realized they might have influenced my decision to distance myself from ...

My Chaotic Path with Spirituality: My Mongolian Experience of Shamanism

Image
It’s hard to believe that barely a year before this experience, I had left behind the system, the comforts of modern life, and most importantly, my PhD in mathematics and mechanics. My mind was, at that time, deeply rational and anchored in logic. Coming from a family where my mother practiced spiritualism, I had grown up amidst contrasting influences. On one hand, my upbringing exposed me to the metaphysical world of faith and divine connection; on the other hand, my rigorous academic background as a mathematical engineer fostered a pragmatic, evidence-based mindset. The journey from that life to shamanism was not something I sought. Yet, it found me. This first chapter of my chaotic spiritual path begins in Mongolia. Unlike the tourist-driven shamanic ceremonies that some travelers seek out, this experience was authentic, unplanned, and deeply personal. It was offered to me by a close friend who, witnessing my despair at being unable to stay in the country I had grown to love, invite...

Discover Some Brazil's Biodiversity Gems

Image
Let me share with you some of my biodiversity encounters during my first month here! And here some special ones: The drugs known as angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors (ACE inhibitors), which are used for the treatment of hypertension and some types of congestive heart failure, were developed from a peptide found in the venom of this species in 1965 by the Brazilian scientist Sérgio Henrique Ferreira "A bradykinin-potentiating factor (bpf) present in the venom of  Bothrops jararaca "

Wander Log - From Solitude to Strength - Santa Catarina, Brazil

Image
This new chapter began in Paulo Lopes, a small town nestled in the state of Santa Catarina. It was here that I decided to settle for a month, although I initially planned to stay only ten days. The goal? To breathe life into my association, shape its identity, launch my blog, and reflect on how my three projects — my association Racines & Voyage, my blog Wanderoots Lab, and my autobiography Alaya — interconnect, complement, and enrich one another. At the same time, I needed to lay the groundwork for economic sustainability to continue this journey uncompromisingly. A much-needed recharge after intense months The three weeks before my departure to Brazil had been exhausting. Between emotional reunions with loved ones I hadn’t seen in a decade, heartfelt goodbyes, and the launch of my projects, I felt carried by a wave of inspiration and sharing. These exchanges nourished me. Giving the best of myself is an experience that, paradoxically, also fills me. Inspiring and being inspired, ...

Wander Log - A Journey of Resilience and Inspiration - São Paulo

Image
Arrival in São Paulo and Seeds of Change I stepped onto Brazilian soil with my head buzzing and heart pounding—not just from the exhaustion of travel, but from the anticipation of what this next chapter could hold. After years of wandering, countless challenges, and more questions than answers, this arrival in São Paulo marked the beginning of something I could only describe as a search—for purpose, for inspiration, and perhaps for proof that my ideas about creating change could really take root. São Paulo, sprawling and chaotic, enveloped me immediately. Its skyline, an endless sea of concrete, hinted at the nefarious consequences of unchecked capitalism—inequality, exploitation, and alienation. Yet, nestled among the chaos were glimpses of resilience and beauty: sprawling murals, the vibrant pulse of life in the favelas, and a sense of community I could feel even as an outsider. Arrival and First Impressions My first days in São Paulo were overwhelming. The sheer scale of the city, i...

Stepping Into 2025: WandeRoots Lab - Deeply Connected, Forever Exploring

Image
WandeRoots Lab Vision This project is deeply intertwined with the mission of Racines & Voyage, the association I founded to empower young people from challenging backgrounds. Through travel, sports, and meaningful connections, we aim to help them rebuild their lives and rediscover joy. Every step I take with Wanderoots Lab supports this cause, making each shared moment part of a larger mission. A major milestone of this mission will be the organization of a transformative festival near Marseille, France, in early 2027. This festival will showcase powerful voices from genres like rap and hip-hop, music that resonates deeply with the strength and resilience of street life and tough upbringings. It will attract the audience we aim to inspire and empower, creating a rhythm of “one year, one festival, one trip” to foster connections and opportunities for the youth we support. Parallel to these efforts, Wanderoots Lab is also a platform for a deeply personal creative process. I am embark...
